98, passed away at 2:10 AM on Friday, May 15, 2015, at The Gardens at Wapakoneta in Wapakoneta, Ohio.
Marjorie was born on October 07, 1916, in Lima, Ohio, to the late Joseph and Alphonsine (Tollis) DeJohn.
On Thursday, April 11, 1940, in Ohio, she married the late David Riley Sanders.
Maggie was an intelligent energetic person who lived life to its fullest. As such, she was a strong and outspoken supporter of the people, ideas and causes that she believed. Maggie was the salutatorian of St. John High School's class of 1934. She was a wonderful cook.
She leaves: two daughters, Leslie Nautiyal, Rockford, IL, and Candace (Bruce) Palmer, Wapakoneta; one son, David (Gayle) Sanders, University Park, FL; eight grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren; sister, Rosie (Karl) Hoffman, Columbus Grove, OH; and several nephews, nieces and cousins.
Her predeceased family members: great grandson, Riley Dally; daughter-in-law Linda Sanders; stepmother, Maria Sabella; brothers, Louis (Helen Youngpeter), Hugo, Alexander and infant Joseph, DeJohn; sisters, Tripolina (Ralph) Cope, Anita (Edward) Saegers and infant Louisa DeJohn.
The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 7:00 on Thursday, May 21, 2015 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home in Lima, Ohio.
A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 on Friday, May 22, 2015 at St. Charles Catholic Church in Lima, Ohio with Father Stephen Blum officiating. Interment will be in Gethsemani Cemetery, Lima, Ohio.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Rita's Hospice or The Gardens of Wapakoneta.
