Marjory A. "Margie" Croft
91, died at 9:51 PM on Tuesday, December 19, 2017, at her residence surrounded by her family.
Marjory was born on October 2, 1926, in, Lima to the late John Orville Ebling and Luella Margaret (Stumpp) Ebling. On November 6, 1945, she married B. Rex Croft, he preceded her in death on November 9, 2009.
She was a graduate of Shawnee High School, cheerleader and homecoming queen. She was a 4H Leader, President of Friends of the Library, a member of P.E.O. Chapter AS where she served as President. She was the Olivet Church Nursery Teacher. She was a storyteller portraying several characters including a schoolmarm using her grandfather’s McGuffy Readers and her picture is on the first downtown mural. She was a member of the Farm Women’s Association, CCL and the Lima Garden Club. She was a member of the Shawnee United Methodist Church. She enjoyed dancing. She was employed at Cowan Realtors as their Administrative Assistant. She and her husband loved to travel and visit their many grandchildren throughout the United States. She loved the Ohio State Buckeyes!
She is survived by four daughters, Bev (Ken) Sweeney, of Lima, OH, Barbara L. Link, of Lima, OH, Melanie J. Croft-Peek, of Myrtle Beach, SC, and Patty A. (Daniel) Koester, of Phoenix, AZ, two sons, Gary D. (Sandra) Croft, of Lima, OH, and Shawn W. (Nancy) Croft, of Lima, OH A brother J. Chester Ebling of Lima, and a sister, Kathleen Voss of Co; twentynine grandchildren, Ashley (Myron Meas), Jeff Schreiber, Jaime Mann, Julie Stewart, Jodie Croft, Brady (Keri) Croft, Dustin Croft, Brittney Croft(Fiancé-Brian Monroe), Tyler Croft, Wendy Staples, Heather (Chandler) Simpson, Zachary Peek, Sean Koester, Jaise (Erica) Koester, Shea Koester, Lexy Croft, Samantha (Nick) Gruber, Traci (Ray) Onders, great grandchildren, Ryan Onders, Rachael Onders, Aria Croft, Taya Monroe, Aden Gruber, Ryland Woods, Landon Meas, Pandora Meas, Lincoln Meas, Simone Baumann, Daniel Staples, Brandon Schreiber, Emily Schreiber, Austin Allemeier, Madison Allemeier, Ellie Koester, Mason Koester, Kaidence Koester, Kiley Koester, Kayson Koester Justin Mann, Austin Mann, and Lynzie Mann, great great grandchildren, Ruby Staples, Kash Parker, and Myles Showman; several nieces & nephews; and caregivers Amon, Lisa, Sharon, and Robin.
She was preceded in death by her grandchild, Gary Jay Croft, and a great grandchild, Angel Croft.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday, December 22, 2017 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home in Lima, Ohio, and one hour 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. before service at the church.
A funeral service will begin at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, 23, 2017 at Shawnee United Methodist Church in Lima, OH. Rev. Bryan Bucher will officiate.
Interment will be in Memorial Park Mausoleum, Lima, Ohio.
