Marleen Briggs

Marleen K. Briggs, 60, passed away at 11:31 p.m. on January 8, 2023, at her residence.

Marleen was born on August 6, 1962 in Lima, Ohio to William and Edith (Sroufe) Briggs. On June 5, 2010 she married Jon Purdy who survives in Lima.

Marleen loved to travel, cruises, and beaches. She also enjoyed gardening, flowers and decorating. She truly loved her family, her grand dog “Gizmo” and her cats.

She is survived by her husband, Jon Purdy; children: Tia (Mike) Wireman, Emily (Chris) Friermood, Lydia (Dante) Schimpf, and Ty (Shelby) Purdy; grandchildren: Zach Simpson, Avery and Olivia Friermood, and Adalynn Pellegrini; brothers, Larry (Patricia) Briggs and John (Brenda) Briggs.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Kelly Briggs and Terry Briggs.

The family will receive friends from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Monday, January 16, 2023 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, Lima, Ohio. A funeral service will follow at 6 p.m. Pastor Joe Compton will officiate.
