Martha Lou Burklo,

76, died at 11:50 A.M. on May 12, 2018, at her home in Elida.

Martha was born on Wednesday, January 14, 1942, in Lima, to the late Wilford Nolan and Mabel (Weinmann) Thomas.  On Tuesday, June 7, 1960, in Decator, Indiana, she married Jackson “Jack” Burklo, who survives her.

Martha was the Chief Financial Officer for the Allen County Health Department where she retired after working there for 47 years. She attended Grace Community Church and was a member of O.E.S. Trinity Chapter and White Shrine of Jerusalem.

She is survived by a son, Bill (Sharon) Burklo of Port Saint Lucie, FL and a daughter, Beth (Steve) Castle of Columbus; four grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; a brother, Logan Nolan; sisters-in-law, Clara, Helen, Doris and Donna; two brother-in-laws, Harvey Burklo, and John Burklo; twenty-six nieces and nephews and extended family, Glenn (Amber) Neal.

She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Harold Thomas and Mabel Thomas; brother, Robert Nolan; brothers-in-law, Robert Burklo and Donald Burklo; sisters-in-law, Rosemary Boyer,  Mildred Nolan and Starlie Nolan, an aunt, Imal Quant and an uncle, Leonard Weinmann.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 pm on Wednesday, May 16th at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home in Lima, Ohio.

A funeral service will begin at 11am on Thursday, May 17th, 2018 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home in Lima, Ohio.   Pastor Mark Gordon will officiate.  Interment will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Elida, Ohio.
