Martha Elizabeth Eley, 85 of Lima, Ohio died on Monday, May 16, 2011, at her Residence.
Born Wednesday, July 1, 1925 in Marysville, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Charles Mooney and the late Katherine Felver Mooney. She was the wife of the late Paul Eley, Sr..
She married Paul Eley, Sr. in April of 1941, and he preceded her in death in February of 1999. She had been the head cashier at the Krogers on S. Main St. for over 35 years. She was a devote Catholic and a member of St. Charles Catholic Church.
Surviving are sons, Jim (Sheila) Eley of Elida, OH and Paul (Sherri) Eley, Jr. of Lima, OH, and a daughter, Karen (David) O'Grady of San Antonio, TX, She had seven Grandchildren and Eleven Great Grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers, Paul (Rosemary) Mooney of Lima, OH and Tom (Melinda) Mooney of McLean, VA, two sisters, Mary Hoehn of Lima, OH and Sue (Michael) Barton of Rockford, IL., and two sister-in-laws, Faye Eley of Lima, Ohio and Marie Mooney of Lima, Ohio
She was predeceased by brothers, Patrick Mooney, Charles Mooney and John Mooney.
A Funeral service will be at 10:00 AM on Friday at St. Charles Catholic Church with the Father Stephen Blum officiating. Interment will be in Gethsemani Cemetery, Lima, OH.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday, May 19, 2011, at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, A Parish Wake wil be held at 8:00 P.M. on Thursday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be sent to St. Charles Catholic Church or St. Rita's Hospice, 959 W. North St., Lima, OH 45805.
