91, died at 5:06 AM on Sunday, December 07, 2014, at Lost Creek Care Center in Lima, Ohio.
Marvin Charles was born on July 28, 1923, in Convoy, Ohio, to the late, Herman Etzler and Murial (Scair) Etzler. On August 15, 1954, he married Eldora (Kirchner) Etzler. She survives in Lima.
He was a welding inspector for General Dynamics and was employed with Superior Coach for 39 years. He was a member and former deacon and elder of Immanuel Lutheran Church for almost 60 years where he kept up and helped maintain the outside of the church. He was a prior board member of the Superior Credit Union and a Walther League chair member. He loved helping his friends, and community. He also loved bowling, fishing and was a avid Ohio State fan.
He is survived by: two sons, John (Jodie) Etzler, of Beavercreek, OH, and Mark (Carla) Etzler, of Angola, IN; eight grandchild, Zachary, Hailey, Maggie, Rachel, Cade, Erica (Justin), Patrick (Holly), Eden (Bryan); five great grandchildren, Dominic, Cailyn, Tristan, Gavin, and Remington; two sisters, Donna Etzler, of Van Wert, OH, and Pauline Etzler, of Van Wert, OH; brother-in-law, Ed Korte of Decatur, IN., and many beloved nieces & nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Margaret (Bob) Bieberich, and Dorothy Korte.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM on Thursday, December 11, 2014 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Lima, Ohio. A funeral service will follow at 3:00 P.M. Pastor Phillips will officiate.
