Born Tuesday, February 16, 1926 in Laurens County, Georgia, to J.C. Flint and Mamie Coley Flint who both preceded him in death.
He was preceded in death by his first wife Elizabeth Flint and his second wife Geneva Flint Horne. He was a self made man and Owner of Flint Construction Company for over 40 years. He worked at Chrysler Corporation for 3 years in Detroit Michigan and for Spherion in Lima, Ohio. He was a member of the Philippian Missionary Baptist Church for over 40 years. He was a member of the Choir and served on the Usher Board. Special Friends of the Family: Vickie Owens who has always been like a daughter and helped care for him for many years. The Peterson Family, The Thomas Family, The Bryant Family, The Wright Family, The Brown Family, The Buntley Family, The White Family and The Owens Family.
He leaves behind to cherish, 5 sons Gregory Hamby of Lima, OH, Melvin Flint of Detroit, MI, Cecil Flint of Detroit, MI, Joe Flint of Detroit, MI and Micheal Flint, Seven daughters, Thelma Flint of Lima, OH, Rosa Cherry of Lima, OH, Carolyn Moore of Detroit, MI, Catherine (Kenny) Reynolds of Columbus, OH, Darlene Flint of Lima, OH, T, Lacreasha (Milton) McCloud of Lima, OH and Mattie Hamby of Columbus, OH, A grandchild he raised from birth, Tamoze Lamar Reyshad Thornton of Lima, Ohio and 37 other grandchildren, 52 great grandchildren, and 15 great great grandchildren, a brother, Richard Flint, sisters, Martha Bell Souls and Dida Belle Parker.
He was preceded in death by daughters, Albertha Ridley, Alberta Flint, Massie Flint, brothers, J C Flint, Jonas Flint, Joseph Flint and Frank Flint, sisters, Loraine Crawford, Mattie Mae Amerson, Addie Mae Johnson and Sisters of the Heart Alberta Peterson and Jean Brown, grandchildren Angela Lisa Crain, Clarence Moore.
A Funeral service will be at 1:00 PM on Monday at Philippian Missionary Baptist Church located at 190 E. 8th Street Lima, Ohio with the Rev. Dr. B. LaMont Monford, Sr. officiating. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Lima, OH.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Monday, October 3, 2011, at Philippian Missionary Baptist Church, 190 E. 8th Street, Lima, Ohio. Memorial contributions may be sent to Donor's Choice.
