Mary Alice was born on March 24, 1920 to Harry and Margaret (Getz) Leidner in Lima, Ohio. She graduated from Lima Central High School in January 1938. Mary-Alice married Ritchey B. Forwerck, who passed away on September 26, 1978, Marvin M. Bogart, who passed away on February 28, 1985, and Donald T. Turner who passed away on January 19, 2007. Before moving to Bryan, Texas, Mary Alice lived in Lima, Ohio and Lake Worth, Florida.
Mary-Alice was a member of Pleasant View Church of the Brethren in Lima, Ohio, First Congregational Church (UCC) in Lake Worth, Florida, and a former member of First Evangelical Reform Church in Lima, Ohio. Mary-Alice was also a member and Past Mighty Chosen One of El Karen Caldron #56, Lima, Ohio; Charter member and past president of Lima Assembly #182 Social Order of Beauceant, Lima, Ohio; Member and Past Noble Grand of Merwin Rebekah Lodge #615, Lima, Ohio; Charter Member of Lima White Shrine #20; Member of St. Mary's Court #20 Amaranth; member of American Legion Auxiliary, Past 96, Lima, Ohio; Member of VFW #1275, Lima Ohio; Member Lima Memorial Hospital Auxiliary; Kentucky Colonel; Kurten Chapter Order of the Eastern Star UD.
Funeral Services will be held at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral home at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 7, 2011. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the Funeral Home; 920 North Cable Rd., Lima, Ohio 45805
Mary-Alice was preceded in death by: Sisters; Frances (Mrs. E. T. Marshall) of Duarte, California, Ruth (Mrs. Leo Wachtel) of Titusville, Florida; brother George Leidner of Lima, Ohio; two grandsons; John Ritchy Forwerck of Van Wert, Ohio, and RB Palmer of Bryan, Texas.
Mary-Alice is survived by her sons: Larry L. Forwerck of Renfrew, Pennsylvania, Thomas Bogart of Lexington, South Carolina, and Douglas E. Turner of St. Louis, Missouri; daughter: Joy E. Palmer (Mrs. R.J. Palmer) of Bryan, Texas, Donna Burden of Cridersville, Ohio, and Beverly Alspach of Leesburg, Florida; Six children, sixteen grandchildren, and thirty great grandchildren; sister: Mrs. Harryette Hake of Alhambra , California; brother Mr. Robert L. Leidner, Costa Mesa California; and a host of extended family and friends.
