Mary Conces

Mary Lou Conces, 79, died at 8:25 a.m. August 23, 2010, at her residence. She was born April 4, 1931, in Lima, Ohio to Clare and Frances R. Jauman Steinhour, who preceded her in death. On April 18, 1953, she married Frank J. Conces, who died July 18, 1985. Mrs. Conces was a 1949 graduate of Delphos St. John?s High School and a 1952 graduate of St. Rita?s School of Nursing. She retired in 1992 from St. Rita?s Medical Center, where she had worked in the nursery and the adolescent psych department. Survivors include a son, Daniel J. Conces, of Lima, Ohio; a daughter, Susan M. Conces, of Columbus, Ohio; a granddaughter, Sarah M. Leiter, of Lima, Ohio; two great-granddaughters, Chloe N. Rigdon, of Lima, Ohio, and Eliza G. Whitling, of Kalida, Ohio; and her companion of 21 years, William R. Verheyen. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Rebecca A. and Elizabeth Conces; and a son, William Conces. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Charles Catholic Church. Burial will be in Gethsemani Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m. Thursday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor?s choice or the Diabetes Association.
