88, died at 10:05 AM on Tuesday, August 27, 2013, at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima, Ohio.
Mary was born on May 18, 1925, in Lima, Ohio, to the late Moses Szekely and Rosa [Bani] Szekely.
On Saturday, December 21, 1946 she married William J. "Bill" Downard and he preceded her in death on October 26, 2004. She loved camping and spending time with her family and friends. She was an avid Ohio State and Cleveland Browns Fan.
She is survived by: two sons Larry Downard, of Lima, OH and David Downard, of Lima, OH: many Nieces & Nephews; friends, Mary Ann [Murrell] Wheeler, Mary Ann (Paul) Brown and Tammy (Bill) Dewitt all of Lima, OH.
She was preceded in death by: two brothers, Moses Szekely, Jr. and David Szekely; two sisters, Catherine Galimore and Susie Bowyer.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. on Thursday, August 29, 2013 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home in Lima, Ohio.
A funeral service will begin at 12:00 P.M. on Thursday, August 29, 2013 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. Rev. Jerry Burtton will officiate.
Interment will be in Shawnee Cemetery, Lima, Ohio at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Charity of a Donor's Choice.
