Mary Elizabeth Dunaway

Mary Elizabeth Dunaway, 96, of Lima, passed away on Tuesday, March 23, 2021 at 12:20 a.m. at Springview Manor. She was born on November 16, 1924 in Lima to the late Ernest and Katherine {Zinner} Smith. On August 21, 1947, she married John “Jay” Dunaway, who preceded her in death April 16, 1990.

Mary worked at Westinghouse Electric Company, where she retired after 39 years. She was a former member of High Street United Methodist Church, Order of Eastern Star, Social Order of the Beauceant Senior Citizens, Eagles Auxiliary, Allen County Historical Society, and the Westinghouse Veterans Association.

She is survived by family friends: Gay Gearhart, Richard and Susan Sherrick, and Sheron and Jim Heins.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sister Betty Pistone.
