Mary Hogan

July 14, 1914 — December 22, 2007

Mary Virginia ?Jinny? Hogan 93, died at 5:50 p.m. December 22, 2007, at St. Rita?s Medical Center, following a fall and a broken hip. She was born July 14, 1914, in Delphos, Ohio to William and Mary Slater Reed, who preceded her in death. In 1940, she married John F. Hogan, who preceded her in death. Mrs. Hogan held many executive secretarial positions in Lima, including at Western Southern Life Insurance and Ed Peyton Volkswagen, after graduating from Delphos Jefferson High School. She and her husband ? safety director at the Lima Refinery and local councilman, in 1963 ? were active in the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks and St. Rose Catholic Church. Many nieces and nephews, friends and neighbors, as well as her loving caretakers at The Wyngate assisted living facility, will miss her joyful laughter. She loved life and truly lived it her way. The true loves of her life were ?her twins,? Eric and Ryan Pheneger, whom she helped raise. Survivors include a friend, Anthony Beall, of Lima, Ohio; a close cousin, Nancy Vantile; and twins Eric and Ryan Pheneger. There will be no services. Burial of the cremated remains will be in Gethsemani Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Rose Youth Ministry. Condolences may be expressed at www.chamberlainhuckereide.com.
