MARY ANN HOUTZER, 68, died at 7:55 p.m. Jan. 5, 2007, at Lima Memorial Health System. She was born March 13, 1938, in Lima to Frank and Omega Vay "Peg" Sproul Hunter, who preceded her in death. On Jan. 30, 1957, she married Harold C. "Pete" Houtzer, who survives in Lima. Mrs. Houtzer was a homemaker and had been married for 50 years. She was active in the YWCA. She had taught swimming for 20 years in the Lima area. She had been on the Ohio State Synchronized Swim Team. She loved animals. She loved to play golf and played in a league at Tamarac. Survivors also include two sons, Michael Houtzer, of Boulder, Colo., and Mark (Sala) Houtzer, of Goldsboro, N.C.; a sister, Sally Lloyd, of Chipley, Fla.; and seven grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Jack Hunter. Services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. The Rev. Doug Adams will officiate.
