Mary Huffer

MARY E. ?Susie? HUFFER, 63, died at 6:40 p.m. on December 30, 2010, at St. Rita?s Medical Center in Lima, Ohio. She was born April 26, 1947, in Lima, Ohio to Melvin J. Recker and Mary E. Martin Recker-Lambert, who have preceded her in death. On August 23, 1967, she married Walter B. Huffer, who survives in Elida, Ohio. Mrs. Huffer was a 1965 graduate of Gomer High School, Gomer, Ohio. She was a member of the Moose Lodge #199, the Orioles Nest #173, the American Legion Post #96, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #3035, of Delphos, Ohio, the AMVETS Post #39, of Lakeview, Ohio, the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #370 and the Blue Star Mothers Chapter 15. She volunteered at the Allen County Veterans Food Pantry. Survivors also include two sons, Walter ?Butch? Huffer, of Lima, Ohio and Randy (Alana) Huffer, of Elida, Ohio; four grandchildren, Cody Huffer, of Lima, Ohio, Bridget Huffer, of Elida, Ohio, Alex Huffer, of Elida, Ohio, and Lauren Huffer, of Elida, Ohio; three sisters, Connie Miller, of Middle Point, Ohio, Carolyn Bicknell, of Lima, Ohio, and Shelley (Tim) Pohlman, of Elida, Ohio; four brothers, Jim (Barb) Recker, of Lima, Ohio, Tony Recker, of Lima, Ohio, Buck Lambert, of Sidney, Ohio, and Denny (Veronica) Lambert, of Lima, Ohio; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by a son, James Huffer, and a sister, Annette Hollar. Services will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 3, 2011, at Chamber-lain-Huckeriede Funeral Home in Lima, Ohio. The Rev. Dr. Dennis Ward will officiate. Burial will be in Sugarcreek Cemetery near Lima, Ohio. Friends may call from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 2, 2011, at the funeral home.
