Mary Jane Baggs

84, died peacefully at 11:05 PM on Friday, February 16, 2018, at her home in Hilliard, Ohio.

Mary was born on November 16, 1933, in Hume, Ohio, to the late Gerald Gilroy and Goldie (Thompson) Gilroy.  On June 28, 1952, she married Robert Baggs who preceded her in death on September 7, 1998.

She was a member of Calvary Temple. More recently she attended Lima First Missionary Church.  She retired from Lima Memorial Hospital after 31 years of service. From her time at Lima Memorial, she gained many wonderful friends. She loved spending time with her family and doing activities with her church friends. She enjoyed playing cards with her lifelong friend, Mary Pugsley.

She is survived by her daughters, Karen (David) Ross, of Columbus, OH, and Sharon Glick, of Hilliard, OH; four grandchildren, Stephen Miller, Kevin Miller, Christopher Downing, and Justin Downing, and one great grandson, Bobby Downing, and daughter-in-law Tina (Kyle) Shoemaker. A special mention of appreciation for the love and support by her nephew Jim Adkins.

She was preceded in death by a son, Robert Raymond Baggs, Jr., a sister, Betty (Pete) Pauline Molina, and brothers, Merle (Faye) Gilroy, Robert (Ester) Gilroy, and Charles (Donna) Gilroy.

The family will receive friends from 9:00-10:30AM on Saturday, February 24, 2018 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home in Lima, Ohio, with a funeral service beginning at 10:30 AM. Interment will follow at St. Matthews Cemetery, Lima, Ohio.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lima Memorial Heart and Vascular Institute.
