72, died at 7:15 AM on Monday, July 9, 2018, at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima, Ohio.

Mary was born on December 24, 1945, in Lima, Ohio, to the late Leo Brinkman  and Regina  (Metzger) Brinkman.  On November 30, 1968, she married Stephen Smith. He survives in Lima

She is survived by her children, Kimberly Smith and Sean (Heidi) Smith; three grandchildren Brittain M. Smith, Sean T. Smith and Savannah B. Smith; sisters, Janet Skinner and JoAnn  (Dave) Szippl; sister-in-law, Mary Brinkman; many loving nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, John Brinkman and Arthur Brinkman; one brother-in-law, John Skinner; a sister-in-law, Kaylene Brinkman.

Mary was a dedicated wife and homemaker who looked upon motherhood as her true vocation. She was devoted to her husband, children, grandchildren, family, friends and her Catholic Faith. She went to St. Gerard Grade School and was a graduate of Lima Central Catholic High School.

The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. on Friday, July 13, 2018 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home in Lima, Ohio.

A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, July 14, 2018  at St. Gerard Catholic Church in Lima, OH.  Rev. Mike Sergi will officiate.

Interment will be in Gethsemani Cemetery, Lima, Ohio.
