Mary Louise Leonard , 87, died at 9:05 a.m. March 13, 2009, at Lima Convalescent Home. She was born May 6, 1921, in Owenton, Kentucky, to Gilbert and Clara Cobb Bruce, who preceded her in death. On May 24, 1941, she married Richard A. Leonard, who survives in Elida, Ohio. Mrs. Leonard was a volunteer at St. Rita?s Medical Center for 13 years. She was active with the Boy and Girl Scouts, enjoyed tennis and was a member of Kettering Tennis Club. She was a member of the Utopian Club of Kettering and loved the aquatic and exercise programs at the YWCA of Lima. She was a member of the North West Chapter of Ex-Prisoners of War. She loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren very much. Survivors also include a son, Thomas R. (Linda) Leonard, of Danville, California; a daughter, Carole A. Wenger, of Elida, Ohio; four grandchildren, Kristen (Paul) Skrabo, of Portola Valley, California, Stefanie (Dean) Clark, of San Ramon, California, Andrew (Katherine) Wenger, of San Ramon, California, and Emily Wenger, of Palatine, Illinois; and six great-grandchildren, Sydney, Courtney, Lucas, Brooke, Paige and Lindsey. Another great-grandchild is expected in May 2009. Visitation will be Monday, March 16, 2009 from 1:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. Services will begin at 3 p.m. Monday at Chamberlian-Huckeriede Funeral Home. Chaplain Herb Wilker will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
