Mary M. Luchini,
97, of Lima, passed away on September 17, 2015 at 11:20PM at her residence. Mary was born, in Lima, on December 8, 1917, to Gasper and Josephine (Baptista) Mascellaro, both of whom preceded her in death. On June 24, 1946, she was married to Aldo "Al," Luchini, who passed away on April 4, 1983.
Mary worked at C.G. Cigar Factory and Westinghouse. She retired from Montgomery Ward Department Store, and was co-owner, along with her husband Al, and her brother in law Chico, and her sister Josephine, of Al's Market. She was a charter parishioner of St. Charles Catholic Church, and a member of the Altar Rosary Society. She also was a member of CIAO and St. Rita's Auxiliary. She loved cooking (Italian) and spending time with her family.
The family would like to thank the entire staff of Burton's Ridge for their loving care of Mary.
She is survived by a son: Joseph (Theresa) Luchini of Lima, two daughters: Mary Rose (David) May of Lima, and Gina (Jim) Pugin of Lima. A daughter in law, Kimberly Luchini of Lima, also survives. Grandchildren, David (Aubrey Cook) May, Robert Bilo, Michele (Chris) Bowers, Angie (Tom) Beckman, Stacy (Brad) Jones, Scott (Temeni) Luchini, Joseph Luchini, Alex, Taylor and Andrew Luchini, Anne (Justin) Fedele, Jasmine (Michael) Westland and Elisha Pugin. 17 Great grandchildren, Braden, Alicia, Lauren, Peyton, Gabe, Madison, Nick, Johnathon, Morgan, Hannah, Kamden, Anna, Lydia, Claire, Keaton, Ethan and Declan. Also many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and Al, she was preceded in death by a son, Vincent Luchini, and three sisters, Josephine Cumella and Virginia Shortino, and Giovainna Madonia.
The family will be receiving guests at Chamberlain Huckeriede Funeral Home, on Monday, September 21, 2015, from 2pm-8pm, with a parish wake at 7:30pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday September 22, 2015, at 10:30 am, at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, with Fr. Steve Blum officiating. Interment will immediately follow at Gethsemani Cemetery.
