Mary E."Aunt Betty" (Shaffer) Ward-Phillips-Lane,
83, died at 1:03 PM on Thursday, October 23, 2014, at Lima Memorial Health System in Lima, Ohio.

Mary was born on October 29, 1930, in Lima, Ohio, to the late William Austin Shaffer and Mary (Long) Shaffer.

Mary married William Lane. He preceded her in death. She was a state certified health aide in both Florida and Ohio. She loved dancing and animals. She also loved spending time with her family and going to the lake during the summer time.

She is survived by: two daughters, Sherron (Randy) Phillips-Camper, of Lima, OH and Kathleen (William) Placie, of Lima, OH; a son, Richard E. Phillips II, of Lima, OH; six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; a brother, William (Florence) Shaffer; a brother-in-law, Charles "Chuck" Nagel and numerous nephews & nieces.

She was preceded in death by: a daughter, Bonnie Suzanne Phillips; a great grandson, Owen Moran; a sister, Yolanda "Bonnye" Nagel; and a brother, Benjamin Shaffer.

The family will receive friends from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM on Monday, October 27, 2014 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home in Lima, Ohio.

A Memorial Service will begin at 11:00 AM on Monday, October 27, 2014 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home in Lima, OH. Rev. Wanda Werking will officiate.
