Mary Ann Wheeler, 83, passed away on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, at St. Rita’s Medical Center.
Mary Ann was born on April 30, 1941, in Crestline, Ohio to August Martin and Elizabeth Louise (Batory) Ermi. On August 26, 1961, she married Murrell Lee Wheeler, who survives in Lima. Along with her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Anita (Wheeler) Ross; brother, August (Ruby) Ermi Jr.; a sister, Barbara (Ermi) Tashman; in-laws, John (Betty) Wheeler, Judy (Buck) Thomas, Tommie (Linda) Wheeler, Fern (June) Woosley, Kathy (Bobby) Toy, David Wheeler, Brenda (Jim) Stroub, and Linda (Bobby) Patton-Hudson; and many nieces and nephews.
Mary Ann was the Director of Medical records at St. Rita’s for 40 years. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and St. Gerards Church. Mary was an excellent cook and selfless person with a heart of gold. She always took care of everyone else. She loved her pets, especially her Pomeranians, Tinkerbell, Teddy, Nic, and her favorite, Pooh bear.
She is preceded in death by her parents, and a sister, Elenore Ermi; and in-laws, Chester Wheeler, Ron & Pat Wheeler.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Monday, February 17, 2025, at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, Lima, Ohio. The funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. A Priest from St. Gerards will officiate. Burial will follow at Gethsemani Cemetery, Lima, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Gerards Church.
