Mary Lou Williams
86, passed away at 2:40 AM on Thursday, Dec. 19, at Springview Manor Nursing Home in Lima.
She was born on April 11, 1927, in Lima, to the late Ivan B. Moyer and Pauline H. [Fisher] Moyer. She married Robert V. Williams on November 24, 1949 in Lima. He preceded her in death on October 5, 2006.
Mary Lou was a graduate of Lima South High School Class of 1945. She was a member of the Olivet Presbyterian Church and Zion Lutheran Church for many years. She was also the superintendent of the Sunday school at Olivet Presbyterian Church She was a personal legal secretary for Attorney Lee Van Blargan and had worked at Lennox and Ohio Power in both offices. She volunteered with the PTA in the Lima City Schools. She was a boating fan and loved Ohio State Football. She also loved Ohio State Marching Band. Two of her granddaughters were members of the band. She also bowled on a 20th Century Bowling League.
Mary Lou is survived by a son, John R. (Ann Koch) Williams of Elida, and a daughter, Susan K. (David) Morman of Elida. There are five grandchildren: Steven Williams, Aubrey Williams, Jayson Williams, and Amanda Morman, all of Elida, and Michelle (Jeff) Owen of Tipp City, Ohio. Also surviving are three great-grandchildren.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Robert (Bob) Moyer.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Monday, December 23, at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home in Lima.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, Dec. 24, 2013 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home with the Rev. Kent Wilson officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Lima.
Memorial contributions may be made to Zion Lutheran Church or Lima City Schools Scholarship Fund.
