Mary Elizabeth "Betty" Zurfluh
97, died at 10:35 AM on Wednesday, September 10, 2014, at her home in Lima, Ohio.
Mary was born on July 25, 1917, in Cairo, Ohio, to the late Harry Wright and Lois (Macarty) Wright. She married Olin T. Zurfluh on November 28, 1942. He preceded her in death on April 30, 1999.
She was a member St Luke's Lutheran Church and its First President of WELCA; Trinity Chapter #16 Order of Eastern Star; YWCA Board Member & Chairman of Corner Cupboard; Past Pres. Irving PTA-Lima PTA Council; Served on State PTA Board; NW District Director & Board Member Ohio Congress and received both State & National Life Memberships; Graduate of Central High School and Northwestern Bible School - Minneapolis, MN.
She is survived by :two sons, Thomas (Ellen) Zurfluh, of Evanston, IL, and Richard (Kim) Zurfluh, of Lima, Ohio; a daughter , Sarah (William) Oleson, of Elida, OH; a sister, Helen White, of Fort Wayne; and a brother, Roy (Marilyn) Wright, of Elida, OH; three grandchildren, Holli Zurfluh, Rev. Mandy Oleson (Jeremy Roberts), and Josh Oleson (Kearsten); and three great grandchildren, Brenden, Nickolas, and Skylar.
She was preceded in death by: a brother and sister-in-law, Dewey (Marge) Wright, a sister and brother-in-law Eunice (Clair) Copus, and a brother-in-law, J. Reid White.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 12:00 on Monday September 15, 2014 at St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Lima, Ohio. The funeral service will begin at 12:00 with Rev. Michael Hughes officiating.
Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Lima, Ohio.
