Mary Jo Buch, RN, of Centerville, died on Saturday, January 28, 2023 at the age of 74. Mary Jo was born October 30, 1948 in Toledo. She was the first of four children for Robert and Joan (Opaczewski) Klofta.
She graduated from Lima Central Catholic where she met her future husband, Hector. She then earned her nursing degree from Good Samaritan Hospital School of Nursing in Dayton. On September 4, 1970 Mary Jo married her high school sweetheart, Hector, in Lima. They enjoyed family time and travel.
Mary Jo was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She is survived by her three children: Robert Buch of Gloucester, MA, Katherine (Alan) Foltz of Centerville, and Michael (Shelley) Buch of Centerville; four grandchildren: Ethan Foltz, Abigail Foltz, Ella Buch, and Caden Buch, and brothers: Tom, Roger, and Kevin Klofta. Hector Anthony Buch, Jr., MD, of Lima, died on Saturday, November 7, 2020 at the age of 72. Hector was born March 9, 1948 in Santiago de Cuba to Hector and Avelina Buch. He came to the United States in 1961. On September 4, 1970, Hector married his high school sweetheart, Mary Jo. He received his medical degree from Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona in 1976 and he practiced medicine for 40 years in Lima. They enjoyed spending time with family and traveling.
Hector was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his three children: Robert Buch of Gloucester, MA; Katherine (Alan) Foltz of Centerville; and Michael (Shelley) Buch of Centerville; four grandchildren: Ethan and Abigail Foltz; Ella and Caden Buch; and sister Helena (Donald) Knowles.
Hector was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorial donations can be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
Memorial to honor both Hector and Mary Jo will be held at Chamberlain Huckeriede Funeral Home on Friday, February 3. Hours are 1 to 3 and 5 to 7 pm. Service to be held at 7 pm.
