Mary Lou Morgan, 84, passed peacefully on Tuesday, August 1, 2023.
The only child of the late Lucas C. Ruth (1971) and Evelyn E. (Wharton) Ruth (1989), Mary Lou was born on September 5, 1938, in Cincinnati, Ohio. Later in life, she and her mother relocated to Lima, Ohio, where she eventually met her high school sweetheart, Larry Phillip Morgan, at the local roller rink. She married the love of her life on July 21, 1956.
Mary Lou was proud member of the first graduating class of Lima Senior High School, class of 1956. Mary Lou loved her children, grandchildren, and serving the Lord. She received her Associates Degree in Business Management from Lima Technical College. In addition, Mary Lou worked as a purchasing agent for BP Chemical, was an avid supporter of the United Way and YWCA, serving as the chairperson of Bingo and was also a longtime member of Peace Lutheran Church, Lima, Ohio
She is survived by her sons, Michael Wilson (wife: Hazel Lynn (Cline)) Morgan of Columbus, Ohio, and Matthew Todd (wife Rachel (Wright)) Morgan of Lima, Ohio; grandchildren: M. Gage Morgan, Caden Morgan, Ryan Norton, Kellie Morgan, and Hannah Norton; as well as an abundance of lifelong friends.
In addition to her parents, Mary Lou was preceded in death by her eldest son, Phillip Keith Morgan (2003); her loving husband, Larry Phillip Morgan (2005); and a granddaughter, Mary Abigail Morgan (2010).
The family will receive friends from 9 – 11 a.m. on Monday, August 7, 2023, at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, Lima, Ohio. The funeral service will then begin at 11 a.m. Rev. Dr. Samuel Payne will officiate. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, Lima.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Adult Day Care Center, Allen County Council on Aging, 700 N. Main St., Lima, OH 45801, or St. Rita’s Medical Center, Hospice Care, 300 W. Market St., Suite A, Lima, OH 45801.
