Matthew "Matt" Lawrence

Matthew “Matt” Lawrence, 35, passed away on July 22, 2023, at his residence.

Matt was born on July 8, 1988, in Lima, Ohio.  He is survived by his parents, Lori (Chuck) Rogge of Bradenton, FL and Rodney (Sandy Hawk) Lawrence of Powell, OH.

Matt was a former body builder, a devout Buckeyes fan, and was as loyal to his many dogs as they were to him. Young kids adored Matt and his playful spirit; they would all flock to his big muscles and even bigger heart. Matt's joking and loving nature earned him many older fans as well.  The family gatherings he so loved, will not be the same without him. Gone, but never forgotten.

Along with his parents, he is survived by his siblings: Brian (Kristie) Kirk of Bristol, IN, Kevin (Ruby) Kirk of Snow Hill, NC, and Rachel Lawrence of Bradenton, FL; his special friend, Lita Leonard; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, John and Patricia Baughman, and Cloyd and Mary Ann Lawrence; as well as two of his maternal aunts, Mary Ann Taylor and Joyce Dunnigan.

A private funeral service will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family to defray funeral expenses, or to Deb’s Dogs in honor of Matt.
