Maxine Patton

Maxine Allen Patton, 84, died at 11:55 p.m. November 8, 2010, at St. Rita?s Medical Center. She was born February 28, 1926, in Prestonsburg, Kentucky, to Simon and Lessie Richardson Allen, who preceded her in death. On September 12, 1944, in Prestonsburg, Kentucky, she married Estill Patton, who survives in Lima, Ohio. Mrs. Patton was a homemaker. She enjoyed fishing, camping, yard work, spinning yarn, crocheting, watching The Ohio State University sports and spending time with family and friends. Survivors also include two sons, Dr. Joe (Teresa) Patton, of Lima, Ohio, and Robert (Katherine) Patton, of Kokomo, Indiana; seven grandchildren, Kimberly (Buck) Mims, Joe (Meagan) Patton, Darren (Barbara) Patton, Lauren (Eric) Clapper, Brett Patton, James Patton and Andrea (Juan) Nieto; two step grandchildren, Marci Dunlap and Tyler Dunlap; a sister, Myrtlene (Carl) Carpenter, of Evansville, Indiana; and special friends, Merle and Mary Ann Wheeler. She was preceded in death by a brother, Roscoe Allen. Services will begin at 2 p.m. Friday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. Burial will be in Allentown Cemetery, Allentown.
