Age 69, died at 7:15 a.m., Sunday, July 3, 2016, at Good Samaritan North Health Center, in Dayton, Ohio.
Melissa was born on March 26, 1947 to Lowell and Muriel (Dischinger) Moore, her father preceded her in death; her mother survives in Lima, Ohio.

Melissa married John Hastings on January 21, 1967, he survives in Lima. Melissa loved crafting, knitting, and sewing and above all things she loved her husband John, children and grandchildren.

She is survived by a son Robert J. (Mary) Hastings; a daughter Laura (Brad) Caughman; six grandchildren Billy Trent, Dominic Hastings, Marisa Hastings, Aloni (Skylar McNutt) Caughman, Aleksis Caughman, and Deidre "Deitz" Caughman; three brothers Herb (Karin), Gary (Sharon), and John (Liz) Moore; four sisters Carole (Mike) Terry, Lynn (Jerry) Mohler, Katie Dennis, and Jeanice (Doug) Galloway; and sister-in-law Peg (Mike) Crawford.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, July 6, at Chamberlain- Huckeriede Funeral Home in Lima, Ohio.

Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, July 7, at Chamberlain Huckeriede Funeral Home. Pastor William Turner will officiate.

Interment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery, Lima, Ohio.
