Michael T. Miller

Michael T. Miller, 73, died at 11:25 AM on Thursday, July 1, 2021, at his residence in Elida, Ohio.

Michael was born on December 3, 1947, to the late Patrick G. and Patricia A. (Ryan) Miller.  He married Caryn A. (Fenters) Miller and was blessed with 48 years of wedded bliss, who survives in Elida, OH.

Michael always said that “Caryn was proof of ‘marrying up’ and her love and devotion will always be treasured”.

He was a proud graduate and member of the class of 1965 of Lima Central Catholic High School and a 1974 graduate of the University of Northwestern Ohio. He proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1965 to 1969. He worked in the financial services industry and found a part-time job late in life that was the joy of his working career. Michael spent 18 years working as a “stringer” for the Lima News sports department and developed many friendships with coaches, officials, and players before retirement. Michael enjoyed golfing, lunch with friends, and Notre Dame football.

He is survived by his wife, Caryn A. Miller, and daughters, Beca (Kevin) Sheidler, Sarah (Jason) Hanna, and Alison Miller; siblings, Patrick G. (Richard Stadtmiller) Miller, Peggy Dunn, Jeanne (Bob) Miller, JoEllen Miller, BJ (Catherine) Miller, Jamie (Jenny) Miller; grandchildren, Payton Sheidler, Adilena Howell, Ellie Sheidler, Michael Garlock, Kinley Custer, Cooper Hanna, Claire Hanna, Crew Hanna.

The family would like to thank all of the wonderful doctors, nurses, and staff at St. Rita’s Medical Center.

There will be no public services, a private family service will be held at a later date.
