Michael Gerard Moyer

Michael Gerard Moyer, age 64, passed away in his home in Port Charlotte, Florida on September 5, 2021 one day prior to his 65th birthday. He was a 1974 graduate of Lima Central Catholic High School. He went on to earn a Bachelor’s Degree in business from Defiance College. He then married his loving wife Carol at the age of 20, and they remained married until the day of his passing in the arms of his wife. He passed surrounded by family and friends. Michael began his 37 year career with UPS shortly after his marriage until he retired.

After retirement, Mike and Carol moved with his mother, Rita, to Florida where Mike made due on a promise to his loving wife to provide her with water front property and a sail boat. He is survived by his wife, Carol, their daughter, Melissa Godoy (Denis) of Arkansas, their son, Steven Moyer (Martinna) of Connecticut, and three grandchildren, Nicholas Godoy, Samara Moyer, and Rune Moyer. He is also survived by several sisters, Fran Mansfield (Steve), Mary Beth Miller (Denny), Connie Coon, Anne Cross (Doug), and lone brother amongst the many women now, Joe Moyer (Becky). He is also survived by a large extended family and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Rita Moyer, brother-in-laws Mark Thompson and Greg Coon.

A viewing will take place at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home on Saturday, September 11th from 9:30-11:00 a.m.  Funeral services will take place directly following the viewing on Saturday, September 11th at 11:30 a.m at St. Gerard’s Catholic Church in Lima Ohio. Burial services will be immediately after the service at Gethsemani Cemetery.
