Michael "Mike" B. Roeder
died at his residence on December 28, 2014. He was born July 3, 1940 in Lima to the late Gale F. and Ruth E. (Olney) Roeder. On November 4, 1997 he married Sharon A. (Maywhoor) who survives in Lima.
Mike graduated in 1958 from Gomer high School and from Bluffton College with a Bachelor of Science Degree, 1965. Mike taught school for many years and completed the last 13 years of his career at Bath Middle School. He was known as the science teacher who drove the hearse to school. After teaching Mike purchased the family business, Roeder Fence and Supply Incorporated.
He was a Patron Member of the NRA, Tri-state Gun Collectors Inc., Cairo Sportsman's Club, Sabers gun club, Fraternal Order of Eagles and he was a certified graduate and member of the Gemological Institute of America Alumni Association.
Survivors include three stepsons, Mark and (Niki) Grove of Lima, Gary Grove and Fiancé Anita Kohl of Beavercreek and Mike and (Teena) Grove of Gilbert, Arizona; eight step grandchildren Bret, Lakin, Olivia, Brooke, Kendall, Ronin Grove, Bailey Young and Dylan Neeley. Cousin and best friend George Nearon.
He was preceded in death by a sister Irene Trempert and a brother Gil Roeder.
Visitation will be on Friday, January 2, 2015 from 11:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home.
A Memorial Service will be at 2:00 P.M. Friday, January 2, 2015 a Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. Rev. Charles Dupree will officiate.
