Michael Eugene Shoup

Michael Eugene Shoup,

65, died at 12:09 AM on Thursday, February 1, 2018, at Van Wert area Inpatient Hospice Center in Van Wert, Ohio. He fought a 14 year long courageous battle with cancer.

Michael was born on Monday, March 17, 1952, in Lima, to Harold and Doris (Calvert) Shoup, he is preceded in death by his father.  On Saturday, February 13, 1971, he married Sharon Miller who survives him.

Michael was a "jack of all trades," he enjoyed woodworking, hunting, quilting, gardening and was a huge Cleveland Browns fan. He was a member of the Sheet Metal Local #24 and was a 1970 graduate from Lima Senior High School.

He is survived by his children, Mary (Nick Hryszczenko) Shoup and Derrick (Carrie) Shoup; grandchildren, Kalan and Zachary Spallinger; siblings, Janice Rickett, Lois Shoup, Betty (Tim) Strempka and Laura (Dale) Foltz; nieces and nephews and his beloved pets, Snoopy, Paco and Layla.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Harold Shoup.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 PM on Sunday, February 4, 2018 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home in Lima, Ohio.

A funeral service will begin at 11 AM on Monday, February 5, 2018 at St. Rose Catholic Church in Lima, Ohio.  Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Lima, Ohio.
