Mildred Evelyn Klink
Mildred Evelyn Klink, 89, of Elida, Ohio, passed into everlasting life at St. Rita's Medical Center in Lima, Ohio on October 23, 2013 at 1:25 p.m.
Mildred was born in Cloverdale, Ohio on December 11, 1923 to Albert Stephen Barnhart and Mary Margaret Eagleson, who both have preceded her in death.
Mildred attended Cloverdale School. She was employed by Westinghouse Electric where she retired after 45 years of dedicated service working winding motor wires. After retiring, she began the most important role of her life - spending every minute she could with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She read to them by the hour, spent countless time with them in the garden, and was always available to listen to anything they had to say. Her home was a special place where hugs and cookies were freely given.
She was a member of Lima Baptist Temple and had previously been a member at Grace United Methodist Church for over 40 years. She had also attended Lima Community Church of the Nazarene where she was active in the Senior Ministries and helped serve many funeral dinners.
She was an active member of the Happy Hours Garden Club of Lima where she always gave of her time by making decorations for the Allen County Christmas Tree Festival. She also made many items to sell at the Fruits of the Earth Table at the Christmas Tree Festival, with the proceeds going to charity. Her buckeye key chains were always a request.
She was an active participant in the Allen County Fair. She participated in home arts showing preserves and canned goods, her baked goods, her many flowers and vegetables and showing her many antiques. She was a multiple blue ribbon winner year after year.
She is survived by one son, Dwain (Diana Jean) Klink of Elida, three grandchildren, Jerry (Shellie) Klink of Lima, Tami (Michael) Yount of Elida, and Kelli (Mark) Kendig of Elida and six great-grandchildren, Tyler Klink of Richmond, VA, Clarissa Klink of Lima, Sydney Yount, Tate Kendig, Camden Yount and Jordyn Kendig all of Elida. She is also survived by one brother, LeRoy Barnhart of Cloverdale, and two sisters, Angie Duncan of Continental, OH and Phil Shaad of Harrod, OH.
She was preceded in death by sisters Helen Barnhart, Cecelia Dake, Francis Steele, and by brothers, Ralph Barnhart, Harold Barnhart and Clarence Barnhart.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 on Friday, October 25, 2013 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, Lima, Ohio.
