Mildred Roberta Luquette, 100, passed away at 11:35 p.m. on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at Mercy Health St. Rita’s.
Mildred was born on August 23, 1924, in Mulberry, Kansas, to Robert & Archie (Sullivan) McIlwrath. On October 26, 1946, she married Louis N. Luquette Jr., who preceded her in death in June 15, 1977.
Mildred retired from Kmart. She was a member of Fleet Reserve and the Ladies Auxiliary. She was an active member of the Senior Citizens, where with other members she went on many trips. Mildred enjoyed Swedish Weaving and especially loved spending time with her family. She is known for her world-famous peach pie and her cutthroat domino skills.
She is survived by her daughters, Lynda (Jay) Wright, and Jill (Robert) Smith; grandchildren: Kim (Michael) Greene, Kari (Chad) Ricketts, Brandon (Melissa) Offenbacher, Katie (Manny) Connell, and Aaron (Kimberly) Wright; eight great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Gundela McIlwrath; and nieces, Tina McIlwrath and Sabrina McIlwrath.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Lawrence McIlwrath and sister, Nadine Clark.
The family will receive friends from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. on Wednesday, February 12, 2025 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, Lima, Ohio. The funeral service will follow at 12 p.m. Burial will follow at Spencerville Cemetery, Spencerville, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Senior Citizens Center, 3400 W. Elm St., Lima, OH.
