Minnie M. Stapleton, 88, died at 8:34 a.m. October 27, 2008, at her residence. She was born February 16, 1920, in Mendenhall, Mississippi. She married Johnnie Stapleton, who died April l7, 1976. Mrs. Stapleton had been a cook at Milano Club and at St. Gerard Rectory for 30 years. She enjoyed sewing, gardening and fishing. Her life revolved around her family. Survivors include nine children, Elnathan Stapleton, of Florida, Gertrude (Nathanel) Anderson, Johnnie R. Bluford, Curtis (Mamie) Stapleton, Leo Stapleton, Robert G. (Marsha) Stapleton and Jessie Stapleton, all of Lima, Ohio, Harold Stapleton, of Flint, Michigan, and Odessa (Sam) Brown, of Lima, Ohio; Daughter-in-law Anne Pearl Stapleton, Lima, Ohio; 53 grandchildren; 94 great-grandchildren; 22 great great-grandchildren; and a sister, Romie R. Clinton, of Taylorsville, Mississippi. She was preceded in death by a son, Jon Stapleton; and two daughters, Evelyn Benton and Christine George. Services will begin at 10 a.m. Friday at Cornerstone Harvest Church. Pastor David F. Roberts will officiate. Burial will be in Gethsemani Cemetery.
