Miriam graduated from Anderson High School near Cincinnati, Ohio and Otterbein College. She served with her husband, a United Methodist minister, in several parishes in the West Ohio Conference of the United Methodist Church, including High Street United Methodist of Lima, Ohio. They served High Street for seven years before moving on to Van Wert, Ohio. She was a school teacher, a pre-school teacher, a tutor, and a day care teacher for several years. She retired from Lima Trinity United Methodist Center for Creative Child Care in 1993 after 11 years there. She was then involved with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and with church activities at Lima Westside United Methodist Church as well as Rally Point Youth Center.
Miriam was a role model for all of us. She lived her faith rather than preaching about it. She was kind, patient, and accepting of every individual. The love that she had for her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and in-laws was so evident. She will always be remembered for all of the cards she sent to everyone she knew for every occasion. Everyone feels so blessed to have had her in their lives.
