MIRIAM J. REYNOLDS, 87, died at 8:10 a.m. August 17, 2005, at Lima Memorial Health System. She was born August 15, 1918, in Putnam County, Ohio to Benjamin and Martha J. Hunt Hughes, who preceded her in death. On January 14, 1939, she married John Reynolds, who survives in Lima, Ohio. They had been married for 66 years. Mrs. Reynolds had worked at Neumode Hosiery and had been an operator for the Kalida Mutual Telephone Co. She was a 45-year member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, Elida. She had been a volunteer at Lima Memorial Health System, with more that 4,000 hours. She was a 57-year member of Chapter 118 Order of Eastern Star, Kalida, where she had been a past matron. She was a graduate of Vaughnsville High School. Survivors also include three daughters, Barbara (Robert) Long of McClure, Linda (Tony) Matlock of Lima, Ohio and Debbie (Keith) Trettin of Monclova; a sister, Mary Walters of Lakeside, Oregon; and eight grandchildren, three stepgrandchildren, six great-grandchildren, nine stepgreat-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Ruth Bercaw, Sarah Anne Hoersten and Bessie Carson; and three brothers, Harry, Oral "Shine" and Arthur Hughes. Services will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul United Methodist Church, Elida, Ohio. Pastor John M. Tsironis will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, where an OES service will be held at 8 p.m., and one hour prior to services Saturday at the church.
