Morris Eugene Reams,
84, passed from this life on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at 1 pm at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima.
Morris was born on May 8, 1931 in Lima, OH to Laurel C. and Gladys M. (Hauenstein) Reams who preceded him in death. On August 8, 1954, Morris married Joan C. Nellis and she preceded him in death on June 21, 1990. On July 6, 1991, Morris married Mary June (White) Shields and she survives him in Elida.
Morris is also survived by three sons, Gregory (Jean) of Owings, MD, Bill (Lisa) of Dacula, GA, and Martin (Paula) of Waynesfield, OH, by two step-daughters, Cathy Rohrs of Toledo, OH and Judy (Kevin) Bullock of Celina, OH. Morris is also survived by nine grandchildren, Renee (Patrick) Anglin, Kelly (Michael) Cicerella, Amber (Andrew) Richter, Bruce Reams, Elizabeth (Tyler) Welsh, Alexandria (James) Alspaugh, Sara Reams, Julia Reams, and Hanna Reams, and 10 great-grandchildren and one on the way. He is survived by a brother-in-law, Gene Anspach, Lima. He is survived by several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by three brothers, Charles, Merle, and Kenneth Reams, and two sisters, Lucille Williams and Betty Anspach.
Morris was a 1949 graduate from Shawnee High School where he played basketball. Morris served in the Army during the Korean War. Morris retired from Buckeye Truck Center, Inc. of Lima, OH. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Lima. He was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6772 and a member of American Legion Post 191, both in Spencerville. He enjoyed golfing, snowmobiling, and spending time with family.
Visitation will be on Friday, March 25, from 5 to 8 pm and on March 26 from 10 to 11 am. at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, 920 N. Cable in Lima, OH.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 26, 2016 at 11 am. Rev. David C. Harris will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6772.
