Barbara A. Falk Musto, 82, passed away at 7:48 a.m. on August 10, 2013, at St. Rita's Medical Center.
She was born on June 11, 1931, to Ambrose and Eleanor Strasser Falk. On September 8, 1951, she married Raymond C. Musto, her loving husband of 61 years, who survives.
She is survived by her loving family members which include her brother James (Marcia) Falk of Lima, sister Rosemary (David) Parent of Elida, her children Linda (David) Berger of Lima, Thomas Musto of Toledo, Debra (Donald) Diebert of Port Clinton, Sheila (Max) Kern of Delaware and Lisa (Tony) Bonofiglio of Delaware, and daughter-in-law Lynne Musto of Powell. She was Nana to 14 beloved grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren, and her enormous circle of family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her son Robert Musto and granddaughter Monica Berger.
Barb was employed by St. Rita's Hospital School of Nursing as a housemother to student nurses. She retired after more than 20 years from her position as Office Manager at St. Charles Catholic Church in 1991. She remained an active member of St. Charles Church where she mentored the 8th grade Confirmation candidates and was a Eucharistic Minister to the infirm and homebound. Her life was rooted in her deep faith and religious beliefs.
For most of her adult life she knitted and crocheted blankets for those she loved, including baby blankets and hats that she donated to the Samaritan House and St. Rita's Hospital. For more than 60 years she played bridge on a weekly basis and celebrated birthdays with her treasured lifelong friends.
The focus of her life was the care and nurturing of her family to whom she was devoted. She was deeply loved by all who knew her and will be greatly missed.
There will be no visitation prior to the mass of Christian burial on Tuesday, August 13, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Charles Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Robert Musto Scholarship Fund at Lima Central Catholic High School or the Monica Berger Scholarship Fund through the Lima Community Foundation.
