Mrs. Dorothy Eileen Schouten

Dorothy Eileen Schouten , 83, passed away at 7:50 AM on Thursday, June 26, 2014, at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima.
Dorothy was born on Saturday, February 07, 1931, in Lima, to the late James Ralph Schultz and Hazel Elizabeth [Sproul)] Schultz. On April 8, 1950 she married Byron "Fritz" Schouten who preceded her in death December 13, 1993.
She was a 1949 graduate of Lima South High School and worked as a demonstrator for House of Lloyd Home Parties. Her sales earned her a trip to Hawaii and a cruise. She loved her children, grandchildren and her pets. She enjoyed sending cards, making cookies and candy for the holidays. She was a Cincinnati Reds Fan and described herself as a "bookworm" because she loved to read.
She is survived by three daughters; Christine (Kim) Carter of Springboro, OH, Elizabeth (David) Weldy and Tamara (Dennis) Patrick, both of Lima, also seven grandchildren; BethAnn, Michael, Dave, Bryan, Ben, Matt, and Holly, ten great grandchildren; Addison, Paige, Keeley, Zoi, Andrew, Griffin, Aleya, Landon, Gabby, and Cameron and three step-grandchildren, Joshua, Rachel and Trenton.
She was preceded in death by a son James Schouten and an infant daughter Darleen Schouten.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Monday, June 30, 2014 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, where a funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM.
Rev. Larry Molaski will officiate. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Lima, Ohio.
