Nancy Ann Henderson
79, of Lima, passed away on Monday, February 12, 2018 at her residence surrounded by her family. She was born on September 8, 1938 in Lima, to the late William and Zenith {Jordan} Twining. On May 20, 1958 she married Dale Henderson who survives in Lima.
She is also survived by her children: Rex Henderson of Lima, Jane (William) Glassey of Brighton, MI, and Sally Henderson of Lima, grandchildren: Richard “Will” Collert, Jessica Glassey, Maxwell Henderson, Ashley Henderson, and Maranda Taylor, great-grandchildren: Austin Glassey, Brooklyn McLaughlin, Ethan Henderson, Carson Glassey, Alivia Henderson, Connor Henderson, and Noah Henderson, siblings: Harry (Alice) Twining of Wapakoneta, Elsie Plikerd of Lima, Loren (Blanche) Twining of Harrod, Jim (Sharon) Twining of Delphos, Glenn (Nadine) Twining of Lima, Theresa Swallow of Biloxi, MS, and Twila (Rob) Carr of Lima.
She was preceded in death by her daughter Debra Henderson, son Roy Henderson, sister Mary Johns, brother William Twining Jr., sister Janet Rudisill, and brother Tom Twining.
Nancy was a member of the Lima Community Church of the Nazarene for 77 years, president of the Ruth Matchette Chapter for 30 years. She received the Distinguished Service Award from the Nazarene Church and was a breast cancer survivor. She was CEO of Henderson Rentals and also served as her own attorney. She was President of TG’s Things and worked at Lima Sporting Goods and then went into business herself; sewing for several sport stores. Nancy traveled on 14 trips for Work and Witness through her church as a cook. She visited 11 different countries and mended and sewed tons of clothing for Humanity Ministry and packed shoes for distributions around the world but loved her family above all.
Her family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 14, 2018 from 2-8PM at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, Lima, Ohio. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 15, 2018 at Lima Community Church of the Nazarene at 11AM, will 1 hour of visitation prior to the service. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
