Nancy Hawkins Kennedy

NANCY L. KENNEDY, 65, died at 2:20 p.m. March 6, 2005, at St. Rita's Medical Center. She was born March 14, 1939, in Sunshine, Kentucky, to Merle Clayton Nickel and Ruth Phillips Mauck & Robert Mauck (Deceased). Her father preceded her in death. Her mother survives in Lima,Ohio. On July 29, 1961, she married John W. Hawkins. On January 13, 1985, she married William T. Kennedy, who preceded her in death. Mrs. Kennedy retired in 2001 as general manager of Mello Creme. She had also worked at Pride & Joy Children's Clothing Store, Anthony's Restaurant and Dixie Ley Diner. She was an avid genealogist. Survivors include a son, John D. (Candi) Hawkins of St. Johns, Ohio; two daughters, Janet D. (Shawn) Farkas of New Vienna and Jenifer D. (Scott Kidd) Casady of Cridersville, Ohio; two stepdaughters, Kaylynn M. (Marcus James) Harbaugh of Lima, Ohio and Sarah M. Kennedy of Wapakoneta, Ohio; a brother, Robert L. (Arlene) Mauck of Lima, Ohio; three sisters, Tana (Paul) Nutter and Terri (Alan) Ley, both of Lima, Ohio, and Ronda (James Hayhurst) Watkins of Wapakoneta, Ohio; and 16 grandchildren, a great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews. Services will begin at 11 a.m. Friday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. Pastor Gary Bragg will officiate. Burial will be in Ward Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday and one hour prior to services Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Hope Lodge, 11432 Mayfield Road, Cleveland, OH 44106-2364.
