Nancy Belle (Gedge) Wilt,
94 of Lima, Ohio died on Sunday, October 7, 2012, at 8:05 AM, at Lima Convalescent Home in Lima, Ohio.
Born Wednesday, May 8, 1918 in Springfield, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Frank Gedge and the late Sally (Wenks) Gedge.
Nancy married Jim Wilt on January 4, 1941. He preceded her in death. Nancy was very involved in many civic organizations in Lima through the years. One of their greatest achievements was working with the Allen County Board of the Developmentally Disabled and Marimor industries on behalf of their youngest son, John. She was named "Woman of the Year" by both Kiwanis and the Sertoma Club. Known around Lima for her red glasses and the flowers on the back of her car, she was always ready to help out friends and strangers alike.
Surviving are: two sons, Dave (Ruth) Wilt of Columbus, OH and Stevan (Sandy) Wilt of Naperville, IL; four grandsons, Joshua Wilt, Derek Wilt, Jason (Karen) Wilt, and Adam (Lisa) Wilt: to her three great grandchildren, Henry, Oliver and Sadie Wilt , she will always be "Gigi".
She was preceded in death on Oct 6th, by her son, John Wilt.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday, October 11, 2012, at the Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home.
A combined funeral service will be at 11:00 AM on Friday at the Market St. Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Dorothy Kaiser officiating.
Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Lima, OH.
