Nancy S. Wise

Nancy S. Wise, 87, passed away on Friday, November 29, 2024, after a long battle with bladder cancer. 

Nancy was born on September 23, 1937, in High Point, North Carolina to Jonas C. and Zula B. (Wynn) Harvey. On November 26, 1982, she married John L. Wise, who preceded her in death on February 11, 2022.

After graduating from Pilot High School, Nancy joined the Air Force as a tele-typist. She then went to Technical School at Parkview Hospital in Ft. Wayne, and retired from Lima Memorial as a Certified Registered Technician who specialized in the sterilization of surgical instruments. She enjoyed fishing with her husband and going to their second home on Little Turkey Lake in Indiana. They also enjoyed visiting the casinos in Indiana and Michigan. She loved playing Euchre with family and friends. She was an avid OSU Buckeye fan. She also loved watching golf on TV and knew all the PGA golfers.

She is survived by her sons, Paul (Deanna) Joseph, Troy Joseph, and Ralph “Joe” (Lisa) Joseph II; stepsons, Scott (Cynthia) Wise and Kirk (Betsey) Wise; stepdaughter, Paula (Mark) Ricker; grandchildren: Nicole (Dakota) Joseph-Saul, Philip (Stephanie) Joseph, Toni (Joey) Schulien, and Megan Joseph; great-granddaughter, Chloe Joseph; and sister Joretta Fuller.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Carolyn Moser and a brother, Thomas Harvey.

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, December 7, 2024, at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, Lima, Ohio. The funeral service will follow at 3 p.m. Lay-Minister Dave Belton will officiate. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to any charity of your choice. Nancy donated to many charities throughout the years.
