Nellie Briggs O'Dell

NELLIE PATRICIA BRIGGS O'DELL, 61, died at 3:35 p.m., December 22, 2005, at St. Rita's Medical Center. She was born July 30, 1944, in Prestonsburg, Kentucky, to William T. and Dulcie Ramey Briggs Case, who preceded her in death. On November 15, 1986, she married Carl Vernon O'Dell, who survives. Mrs. O'Dell was a homemaker. She attended Elm Street Church of the Brethren. She was a past president of the Cook Park Neighborhood Association; a member of the Midway East Neighborhood Association; life member of the Women's Auxiliary of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1275; attended Lima Technical College and the Ohio State University-Lima; and was a former Girl Scout Leader. She was the creator, editor and publisher of the electronic newsletter, "Rainbows 4 the Heart," which has a circulation of 1,500 worldwide spreading the good news of God's Kingdom. Her Web site for Rainbows 4 the Heart is www.rainbows4theheart.com. She wishes to remind everyone that Jesus saves and hopes to see you all in heaven one day. Survivors also include three daughters, Tammy Donnally and Theresa Hensley, both of Lima, Ohio, and Susana (Chris) Thaxton of Kenton, Ohio; two sons, Leonard (Becky Jo) Gay and Bill (Sheila) Michel, both of Lima, Ohio; two stepsons, Michael O'Dell and Rodney O'Dell of Lima, Ohio; a stepdaughter, Kathy O'Dell; a brother, Harry (Marie) Crisp; a sister, Beverly (Robert) Shepard; 18 grandchildren, nine step-grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and several step-great-grandchildren; her best friends Sonya, Shirley and Linda; and devoted pets, Bill and Moses. She was preceded in death by a sister, Beatrice Crisp; a brother, Leonard W. Briggs; and devoted pets, Kitty and Sammy. Services will begin at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Elm Street Church of the Brethren. The Revs. Wesley and Sue Richard will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Friends may call 2 to 8 p.m. Monday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home.
