Nellrose White

Nellrose White, 81, died at 4:35 p.m. Dec. 30, 2008, at Lima Manor Nursing Home. She was born April 1, 1927, in Spencerville to Clair J. and Hilda N. Davenport Young, who preceded her in death. On Oct. 6, 1945, she married Charles L. White, who died Dec. 14, 1972. Mrs. White retired in 1987 from the Bath High School cafeteria, where she worked in food services for 13 years. She was a member of Sugar Creek Church of the Brethren. Survivors include four sons, Thomas L. (Carolyn) White, of Columbus, Robert L. (Marie) White, of Port Chester, N.Y., Stephen L. (Susan) White, of Lima, and David L. (Dora) White, of Worthington; two brothers, Jay Young, of Newberry Springs, Calif., and Jim B. (Helen) Young, of Delphos; a sister-in-law, Ann Young, of Delphos; and 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, James (Shirley) White; a sister, Joan Whitling; and a brother, Jack Young. Services will begin at 11 a.m. Friday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. Pastor Martin Moyer will officiate. Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
