Nicholas Nick Pieraccini

Nicholas Roman ?Nick? Pieraccini , 74, died at 8:47 p.m. November 19, 2009, at St. Rita?s Medical Center, following a courageous battle with cancer. He was born July 14, 1935, in Lima to Nicola and Margherita Darsi Pieraccini, who preceded him in death. On May 30, 1958, he married Nancy Pellegrini, who died July 27, 2009. They had been married for 51 years. Mr. Pieraccini retired in 1988 from the Lima City Fire Department, after 35 years. He was a member of St. Gerard Catholic Church. He was a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 370, Firefighters Auxiliary and the Charitable Italian American Organization. He was an avid golfer and bowler. Survivors include three daughters, Susan (Gary) Rabe, of Mesa, Arizona, Patricia (Randy) LeMar, of Waynesfield, Ohio, and Joanne Heindel, of Lima, Ohio; two sons, Steven Pieraccini, of Lima, Ohio, and Nick (Glenna) Pieraccini, of Alger, Ohio; three grandchildren, Nicole Heindel, Kristen (Chris) Melching and Robert LeMar; a great grandson, Bryson Melching; a sister, Leona Miller, of Lima, Ohio; a sister-in-law, Mary Wrasman, of Cridersville, Ohio; a brother-in-law, John (Adrene) Pellegrini, of Lima, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. John Catholic Church. Father David M. Ross will officiate. Burial will be in Gethsemani Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday and 2 to 8 p.m. Monday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, where a firefighter memorial service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to cancer research or the Alzheimer?s Association.
