NOLA ELLEN (McCAULEY) PLAUGHER, 76, died at 12:36 a.m. Friday, January 14, 2005 at her daughter's residence in Springfield, MO. She was born, October 12, 1928, in Peoria, IL to Curtis and Pearl (West) McCauley. On October 4, 1947, she married Paul E. Plaugher who died June 9, 2001. Mrs. Plaugher retired from the payroll department of Lima Memorial Hospital. She was a member of Lima Baptist Temple. She attended college at Manchester College in Manchedster, IN where she was a music major. She roomed with seven other girls in the attic of a professor's house. These eight women have had a Labor Day reunion every year for the last 58 years. Also, while in college, she met, fell in love with and married Paul Plaugher. Nola was a winner on the Ted Mack Amateur Hour with her marimba, as well as a Fred Waring Singer. She worked at Lima Memorial Hospital and retired from their payroll department. After retirement Nola and Paul spent their time traveling and enjoying the company of their friends and family. They were also very involved with their church, the Lima Baptist Temple. Mrs. Plaugher is survived by 2 daughters, Hope Rydberg of Springfield, MO and Sandy Potthoff of Springfield, IL; a son, Terry E. (Hannah) Plaugher of Pulaski, NY; eleven grandchildren, Michelle, Kerri, Trent, Mindy, Mike, Brian, Timothy, Jeff, Elizabeth, Timothy, and Nathan; 4 great-grandchildren, Kris, Drew, Kori and Megan; a brother, Dale McCauley of Florida. She was preceded in death by a brother, Lt. Commander John McCauley. Funeral services will be Tuesday, January 18, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home with Rev. Gary Hohman and Terry Plaugher officiating. Burial will be in Lewis Grove Cemetery. Friends may call Monday, January 17, 2005 from 3:00 - 7:00 p.m. at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home.
