NONDAS LUCILLE POWERS, 84, died at 9:46 p.m. May 10, 2005, at St. Rita's Medical Center following a short illness. She was born Oct. 15, 1920, in Bellevue to Vaughn and Ethel Horton, who preceded her in death. On June 20, 1945, she married Robert Powers, who died Feb. 26, 1992. Mrs. Powers worked and was a co-owner of Powers & Studer Distributing Co. in Lima for 35 years. She formerly worked for the Navy Department in Cleveland. She was a charter member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. She and her husband were avid square dancers in Lima and the south Texas area. Survivors include three daughters, Cheryl (Ben) Fetzer, Christine Powers and Melinda (Steve) Blanchard, all of Lima; a brother, Kenneth (Jeanne) Horton of Media, Pa.; three sisters-in law, Mary (Gerald) Kitchen of Norwalk, Pat (Vernon) Stremlow of Lakewood, and Barb (Dale) Dunlap of New London; six grandchildren, Beth (John) Fetzer Rice, Jill Fetzer, Joe Fetzer, Laura Blanchard, Robert Blanchard and Kathryn Blanchard; and a great-great grandchild, Delaney Rice. She was preceded in death by two brothers and their wives, Donald and LaVerne Horton and George and Arlene Horton, and sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Ruth and Ray Studer. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. The Rev. Henry Sattler C.Ss.R. will officiate. The body will be cremated.
