NORA JEAN KOWALSKY, 79, died at 3:15 a.m. May 23, 2005, at Springview Manor Nursing Home. She was born September 7, 1925, in Lima, Ohio to Levi Elliot and Grace Kennedy Laman, who preceded her in death. On April 14, 1941, in Clarksburg, W.Virginia, she married Edward F. Kowalsky, who died November 29, 1986. Mrs. Kowalsky was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, Elida, Ohio. She loved her family. She enjoyed softball, baseball, Ohio State football and reading. Survivors include a son, David M. (Kay) Kowalsky of Asheboro, N.Carolina; a daughter, Jan (Paul) Swickrath of Elida, Ohio; two sisters, Naomi Buetner of Elida, Ohio and Jeannette (Clyde) Rader of Florida; a brother, Norman Laman of Lima, Ohio; five grandchildren, Todd (Paula) Kowalsky of Greensboro, N.Carolina, Troy Kowalsky of Asheboro, N.Carolina, Matt Shroyer and Justin Swickrath, both of Elida, Ohio, and Monica (Chris) Roberts of Lima, Ohio; three great-grandchildren, Cody Kowalsky of Texas, Caitlyn Shroyer of Elida, Ohio and Payton Roberts of Lima, Ohio; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by an infant son, Lonnie Kowalsky; two sisters, Evelyn Pennell and Esther Shellenbarger; and two brothers, Clark Laman and William Laman. Services will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Paul United Methodist Church, Elida, Ohio. Pastor John M. Tsironis will officiate. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Elida, Ohio.
