Norma Mae John-DeLong, 98, died at 4:45 a.m. November 21, 2008, at Lost Creek Care Center. She was born August 4, 1910, in Spencerville, Ohio to John Henry and Rosa Ellen Book Counts, who preceded her in death. She married Richard John, who preceded her in death. She then married Delphos Raymond, who preceded her in death. In 1980, she married Thomas Edgar DeLong, who preceded her in death. Mrs. John-Delong was a homemaker. She loved quilting, bingo and eating out. In later years, she enjoyed bowling. She loved everyone and never met a stranger. Survivors include a son, Gene S. (Sue) John, of Lima, Ohio: two daughters, Marjorie Mae Pace and Helen (Junior) Gross, both of Lima, Ohio; and 18 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and 14 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Juanita Lange and Dorothy Farsht, and four great-grandchildren. Services will begin at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. The Rev. Terry Brock will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
